Frame Frame
(1-general) A frame is a basic repeated bit pattern in time division multiplexing systems, and/or the time duration of this pattern. (2-frame relay) A frame is a packet of data in a Frame Relay system. (3-video) In video processing, a frame is a single still image within the sequence of images that comprise the video. Note that, in an interlaced scanning video system, a frame comprises two fields. Each field contains half of the video scan lines that make up the picture; the first field typically containing the odd numbered scan lines and the second field typically containing the even numbered scan lines. (4-equipment) A frame is an electronic rack that is used to interconnect and hold electronics assemblies. (5-audio) In audio processing, a frame is a group of audio samples that are processed together (to determine an instantaneous frequency spectrum for a codec like MP3, for example), though two adjacent frames might contain common samples in an overlap region. (6-HTML) An HTML frame is a division of a web page into separate framed areas.
